It was difficult to know what Xiaomi was going to announce at the CES when the range of products he has is so great and it seems that it will not stop growing. At last the time has come for its presentation and, after releasing a new television, has introduced the Mi Router HD, a router that hides a hard disk up to 8TB.
Moving away from the router model we had seen previously, such as Mi Router mini or Xiaomi Mi WiFi Mini Router, the Mi Router HD integrates a 1 or 8TB hard disk plus four high gain PCB antennas, which have stood out in the presentation. In addition, the new router is mounted in aluminum, having an aspect and design also different from what we had seen so far in these products.
They have not spent much time on this product, so in terms of other features, what we have been able to know at the moment is:
- Processor Qualcomm IPQ8064
- Wifi 802.11ac 2.600 Mbps
- 4 x 4 MU-MIMO
Beyond antenna gain and connection speed, what distinguishes this router from a conventional one is functions such as being able to perform automatic backups (also supporting Time Machine). You can also synchronize with Dropbox and Sonos.
My HD Router, price and availability
In the absence of knowing details about when it will be for sale and in which countries, what we know are the prices, being to 200 dollars the model with disc of 1 TB and to 500 dollars that integrates an disc of 8 TB.
