During the upcoming Geneva Motor Show 2017 from March 9 to 19 Toyota will release an update of the Yaris range, a model that has been on sale since 2012. At the moment it has provided very few details on the changes: it will have new bumpers, redesigned drivers and a chassis with different adjustments to improve ride comfort and driving feel.
It will also feature a sports variant – whose final name has not been announced – decorated with the colors of the Yaris that will compete in the next World Rally Championship (WRC). This variant will have a petrol engine with “over 210 horsepower” and can only be chosen in combination with the three-door body. At the moment there are no data regarding benefits or consumption.
It is not the first time that Toyota launches a sports version of this model, although none has had a similar power engine. The Yaris T-Sport 2001 had one with 106 horses, while the 2007 Yaris T-Sport (which was not for sale in Spain) had one with 132 hp.
